Morsels of Truth

In this day and age, life is so very busy.
Life is way too hectic for families to sit and share a meal or two together, each member having their own busy schedule.
We are rushing to soccer, basketball, football, little league games, ballet, music lessons, evening or night classes, 1st or 2nd jobs, just way too busy.
Our lives being way too busy for time in God's word.
God's word is often placed on the top, far back shelf to everything else going on in our hectic lives.

His Peace Is Available To You

God has made available to us ALL,  his peace,  but it is for us to accept it.
His peace is available to us through His Son Jesus Christ.
We may try very hard to have peace and might even be successful in obtaining it, but then it eventually eludes us with the next unexpected, disastrous, or undesirable event that occurs in our life.
As with all things that the world has to offer, the worlds peace is temporary.
The things of God are meant for eternity, and of these things is included His peace.
Yes, those unexpected, disastrous, or undesirable events yet may occur, but God's peace is available to His children who accept it.
John 14;27 says " Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
When we trust God, who has proven Himself faithful through the ages, we can trust his word, his promises to us who believe.
He has said that the way to ALL of his promises is through His Son Jesus.
John 14:6 "... I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
To become one of the children to whom God's promises are meant, you must first come through Jesus Christ.
You must accept Him as the Son of God, and all that He has done to reconcile you to the Father, through is death and resurrection.
If you can't accept this, then the everlasting promises of the Father are not available to you.
Therefore your only peace is that temporary state of being, which you might attain.

All Scripture Is Profitable

I know there are some that have been taught, and believe that the old testament is not relevant for us today.
My question then is "how can it not be relevant?"
We serve a God that is immutable, which includes His thinking.
We can depend on God to say what it is He means, and to mean what He say's.
This is why He is also called faithful.
2 Timothy 3;16" ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."
The Old Testament as well as the New, are ALL scripture.
The Old Testament allows us to learn from the past failures, mistakes, and successes of those who have gone before us. The old testament offers more clarity and insight for things mentioned in the new testament, often reflecting on things that were to come.
Praise God for His infinite wisdom and His plan and process
of getting mankind to not only recognize sin,
through the giving of the law to the nation of Israel by Moses,
but also allowing mankind to recognize it's need for a Savior
through the person of Jesus Christ.

I Am vs I Am

A friend calls me, and I stop what I am doing to be a friend and listen.
My child comes to me, and say's "mom I need something for school,"
and as a mom, I get what is needed.
My neighbor expresses a need for something that I am able to do as their neighbor.
The students I work with expect me as the teacher, to teach them the lesson they are to learn.
I am all these things by role only, but God is all these things ALWAYS  because of who He is.
If we need a friend, He says "I Am"
If we need a parent He says "I Am"
If we need a counselor, lawyer, physician, helper, He says "I Am"
Only God is "I Am"
We are in ROLE only these things carrying out the duties of that role, but God IS ALL these things.
He is our ALL in ALL, whatever and whenever we need Him to be.
Exodus 3;14 (NIV) " God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: "I AM has sent me to you."
He is all things good in His character.
We in our multitude of roles act out (like) the characteristics of God the Father,
God the friend, God the counselor, God the physician etc.
As I am in my many roles, want to lead others to The Great and Only I AM.

I Believe

If we were to be very truthful, we would admit that we frequently give more attention to what we see, than our faith and what the word of God says.
I have to honestly say I get caught in that trap at times also.
I speak the right things, often saying them at the right time without much thought,
then comes the test, to show me if I indeed believe what it is I have said.
1Peter 1;7(NIV)"These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith-of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refine by fire..."
There are things that occur in our lives that will test our faith.
We may say what others would expect us to say as believers, but have we truly believed what it is that we have said, or have we just spoken out of habit?
Like with all things, practice makes perfect.
When we make a decision to practice READING, SPEAKING, and MEDITATING on God's word, than we will come to the place where  it becomes soreal to us, believing it, expecting it,  and thanking God for it even before it is manifest in the natural.
Romans10;17 (KJV)"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
When we do this, we will truly begin to experience His abundant goodness.
The abundance of life He has promised us.

Looking To God

You have at times been that person that another counts on in life.
Maybe you are the one who has counted on another when things got tough.
It's always nice to know you have someone who has your back, but at times the one who has your back get's in the way of what God is trying to do in your life.
He maybe trying to tell you to ask for, and use wisdom, or maybe He's trying to get you to STOP running to and depending on other people.
God want's you to depend on Him.
Philippians 4;19 "And my God shall meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus."
It doesn't matter what the need is, God is a God of more than enough.
He has more than enough; love, joy, peace, health, and wealth to go around to everyone.
He want's you to look to him when you can no longer manage things yourself.
Truth be told, we need God in all that we do, at all times.
Psalms 121;1,2 " I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth."
God will at times use others to come to our aid, but our first thought should be to seek God,  knowing that He loves you and will take care of you.

Do You Want To Be Promoted

We are often working very hard to make money to live the life we want.
Many work long hours, second and third jobs, trying to make enough to live comfortably.
We share our great ideas, our talents, learn new skills, work over time, etc.
in hopes of being promoted on the job.
Matthew 25;20,21 "And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying "Master you delivered to me five talents, here I have made five talents more."
His master said to him, " Well done, good and faithful servant. Yu have been a faithful over a little, I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of  your master."
It is when we show our selves to be good and faithful stewards over what we have, that we are promoted to greater.
You will not find an employer promoting someone whom they cannot depend,  nor does well in his current position.
The same holds true regarding our many prayer request for greater, opportunities, financial status, and any and all other areas of achieving greatness.
If you are not a good steward over what you currently have, right where you currently are,
why should you expect a God full of wisdom to promote you with something greater?
If we don't pay our debts, but spend frivolously, and don't care about those less fortunate,
we are showing God that we can't handle what has been entrusted to us already, so are not ready to handle anything more.
Luke 16;10 " One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest
in a very little is also dishonest in much."
If you are looking to be promoted to greatness,
how are you handling what you have, right where you are now?
