You Were Not Created To Be Comfortable

I believe many Christians think that part of Christianity is living comfortably
without any troubles.
This surely is not biblical truth, which says in Psalm 34:19"Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." and again in Psalm 44:7"But it is you who have been our savior from those who were against us, and have put to shame those who had hate for us."  these two scriptures alone do not sound like People of God without problems/troubles. It is actually just the opposite being said. As Christians we will have many troubles, as noted in the first referenced scripture, as well as John 16:33" These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
We can find rest at the end of this scripture, knowing Jesus Christ and of his finished work at the cross that demonstrates his triumph and ours in being able to overcome the world.
It is in him that we are overcomers, by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony.
Our testimony should be the same as Jesus, "we overcome the world."
It is often through these troubles
that the Lord uses them to shape and mold us into the people he purposed us to be.
The trials and difficulties are those abrasive elements that smooth out the roughness in our character.
James 1:2,3 "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials.3)knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience."
We can be confident knowing that God is working all things out for our good because he loves us.
The Lord wants to stretch our faith and stretching is not comfortable.
That's why stretching when exercising is so uncomfortable.
You are stretching muscles, and tendons beyond their comfort zone of their relaxed state.
That's the problem with many Christians, we get too relaxed in our Christian walk and don't want to move beyond that which is comfortable.
Therefore the gospel is not being spread to all the nations,
non-believers are not being ministered too, people are not being encouraged, all because
we are much more comfy talking and debating with other believers about religion, and our own opinions.
We are called to be co-labors with Christ in reaching the nations, building God's kingdom.
You and I were not created to be comfortable.
Allow God to S T R E T C H! you.

Praying Without Ceasing

There is so much going on in the world today
and sadly enough much of it is not good.
Even many good deeds that are done are not from a pure heart with pure motives.
There are some who do good things for wrong reasons.
There are some who will grant you a favor only to hold their good deed over your head, making you feel that you are in debt to them forever.
Then there are those who won't do anything for anyone else but are always looking for someone to  help them.
Oh there are many people, situations and circumstances that we all know of, that requires us to pray.
There's always something to talk to God about.
If not a request for the Lord to move in a situation,
it should be a prayer of thanksgiving for how He has already moved and worked on our behalf.
There's always someone or something going on around us that is needing prayer to be offered to God.
James 5:16 says "...the effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."
We are not only to pray but believe God for answers.
Matthew 21:22"And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."
The way things are going around us, we need to be praying and believing God more,
doing as it says in 1Thessalonians 5:17" pray without ceasing."
You can pray in your car even while you are driving,
instead of talking and texting on the phone while driving.
It's safer.
You can pray while you are cleaning, while exercising, cooking, working.
You can pray pretty much any time and any where.
So let us make a decision to pray without ceasing, believing God.
You and I and the whole world need it.

He Knows Your Due Date

I am sure we can all relate to having doubt or doubted that God really hears and answers prayer.
I remember asking God for things that seemed a life time in waiting for answers.
And here I am now old enough to know God works in his own perfect timing.
I am sure there are also some of you that feel that there is something you really want to do,
something that is great and amazing.
I want to encourage you not to give up on that dream of greatness.
You were created for greatness.
You were created to bring to this world something wonderful in a way that only you can do.
Psalm 139:14 "You are the marvelous work of God's hand that has been fearfully and wonderfully made."
God has impregnated you with possibility
He is getting you prepared to handle the labor to bring that dream, that desire forward.
1John 4:4 "...he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world."
People may look at  your outward appearance and not see the potential that is in you,
but God who by way of the Holy Spirit impregnated you with possibility,
He sees and knows how long it will take for that possibility to fully develop.
He knows the exact date you can expect to give birth to that greatness.
Philippians4:6 "be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your request me made know to God.
Our omniscient God knows just when we are ready to handle the responsibility for that which  you have petitioned him for.
Our omniscient God does not give us more than we can bare.
 He knows your due date.

You've Got A Testimony, so Share It

Today while in family bible study a bible scripture leaped off the page to me.
That scripture was Psalms 78:5 "For He established a testimony in Jacob,
And appointed a law in Israel."
The Lord has done some awesome things in our lives and we need not be quiet about them.
We are witnesses to his wonderful goodness and we need to Testify of all the good and marvelous things the Lord has done in our lives.
We are also to share God's word, which is the power unto salvation.
When a person who was a drunkard can say unashamed " I was a drunk but God delivered me from drunkenness, He came and cleaned me up and took away my taste for alcohol."
When a person who once lived the homosexual life style can say unashamed. "I once lived a life of homosexuality, but God came and delivered me, yes,  I occasionally struggle with same sex attraction but God gives me the grace and strength to say no to my feelings and my ways while giving me His peace and willingness to say yes to His ways."
If we would be willing to take time,  being free, bold, transparent and courageous enough to tell our story of God's goodness in our lives,  I am confident that we would have more people seeking our Lord for his help, for his healing, for his deliverance. for his strength, peace and grace.
We are instructed to love God first and one another in His law,  and our testimony is a way of doing just that.
Through our testimony of the Lords goodness in our lives we can draw mankind toward The Saviour that is able and willing to save them from all manner of evil.
It does not matter how messed up we think or feel we are.
The Lord's hand is extended to help us and he won't pull back to first grab a glove no matter how messed up we are.
His holiness is pure enough to sanitize the worst filth.
You've got a testimony, so share it and God's word.

Be Still

I delivered a message this past Sunday,
and in that message the Holy Spirit spoke through me, on how my life was like a see-saw or merry-go-round ride.
I would get in a relationship (see-saw ride) that took me up and down and later finding myself out of the relationship (see-saw),  yet having the lingering effects of that up and down motion.
Not waiting to have a settling of the effect from the ride.
Finding my way onto the next relationship (a merry-go-round) which took me round and round and once over,
I was dizzy from all the spinning, and yet again without settling from it's effects I just kept moving from see-saw to merry-go-round until FINALLY, I stopped and stood still.
I got my faculties about myself and glanced back, not having to look very far at all, I saw I had never gone any where.
Each time I got on the relationship ride, I went in telling myself "this time the ride would be different."
Somehow, this time the see-saw or merry-go-round will in someway go a differently than before.
It will no longer just go up and down or round and round,
but how or why would it go differently?
This is what see-saw's and merry-go-rounds do,
They go up and down or round and round, and to expect them to do anything else would be insanity.
It was insanity.
It was that moment of stillness, that the Lord had brought me to and He kept me there still
long enough to hear him say from Psalm 46:10 " Be still, and know that I am God..."
All the years I spent going from one relationship ride to the next just to find that I was still in the same place where I had gotten on.
I had never stood still long enough to recognize that these relationships were taking me no where
and than the Lord intervened in this stillness and I was able to recognize that it was this relationship
that would  move me, that would take me somewhere.
This relationship is by far no see-saw nor merry-go-round.
The Lord had a plan for my life.
I needed to be still and settle down from all the spinning and up and down
and when I did, I was able to see clearly and make a sound decision.
I was able to see that I needed a relationship with the Lord.
I was able to trust him and  still do.
I can now look back and see how far I have come.

Jesus Is The Answer

If there was someone who had the answer to every question, every problem you faced
would you go to them for answers?
If there was someone who would and could keep a promise to be with you always, never to leave you
would you allow them to?
If there was someone who would forgive you of all of your many mistakes when you truly sought forgiveness, would you repent?
If there was someone who could keep a promise to provide your every need, would you look to them for your provisions?
If there was someone who could make all the wrong choices you'll ever make, work out for something good, would you take those wrongs to them?
If there was someone who loved you unconditionally no matter what,
would you be willing to love them back?
If there was someone who would give up their own life so that you could live, allowing you a life better than any you could ever imagine,
would you diligently seek for them?
Well there is someone and He is not only able but willing to fulfill all of His promises to you.
His name is Jesus and He say's (John 19:30 "...It is finished...")
He's done his part, it's now up to you to do yours and take hold of his promises.
John 14:6 "Jesus answered "I am the way and the truth and the life..."
Jesus is the answer

Pray Without Ceasing

In 1Thessalonians 5:17 We are instructed to "pray without ceasing."
Why?
because prayer, is communication, it is speech, it is words,
which God used to create the universe.
When we pray we are creating, we are being like our creator in whose image we have been made.
When we pray we are communicating with God and giving him permission to intervene on our behalf.
In the beginning God gave mankind domino and authority in the earth.
In the fall, Adam and Eve gave that which was given to mankind by God, away to Satan.
God does not take back anything that he gives.
As it is written in Romans 11:29 "For the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable."
The earth was God's gift to mankind.
It is for mankind to take back what we allowed to be taken from us.
When a righteous man prays believing, he is fighting the good fight of faith,
giving God permission to intervene and fight the battle.
Praise the Lord that through faith we can go into this battle knowing we already have victory.
There is much territory to regain; families, communities, opportunities, joy, peace, finances, all that the enemy has taken from us.
James 5:16 says "Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much".
Let us not discount the power of prayer, let us not neglect .prayer
There is much to be done.
Let us pray without ceasing.

Don't Be Deceived

I feel it very important to let all know,
there are many people that are leaving this earth without ever having lived.
They will have allowed the thief to come steal kill and destroy the which Jesus came to give them.
John 10:10 "The thief does not come except to steal kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly."
There are those who have allowed the enemy to rob them of the truth.
John 14:6 " Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
It takes more than just believing that there is a God.
We must also believe on God's Son, Jesus Christ, to be saved, to be able to spend eternity with Him.
Those who do not accept Jesus and His finished work on the cross,
will go into eternity separated from God.
Jesus is the only way, the only way to even begin to experience life.
The wonderful things we experience in life through Jesus are just a taste of the abundance he brings to our lives.
We get to taste joy, peace, love, grace, mercy, kindness, strength and more, which are just apart of the taste platter of life in Christ.
The abundance of life platter goes beyond our wildest dreams and hopes.
The enemy has deceived too many with thoughts that they are enjoying life on their own without God.
King Solomon says life without God is vanity.
It's existence without purpose.
Praise God, He created us with not just a purpose, but a plan to get us to that purpose.
The plan he has is a good one.
We can't allow the enemy to continue with his tricks and schemes of destruction of God's creation.
Don't be deceived there is an eternity.
Your eternity can either be with  or without God.
With God you will have all the good that God brings.
Without God, you will be without ANY of the good that only God can bring.
The choice is yours.

Never Alone

I think in times of going through difficulties,
we feel that we are the only one who is experiencing or has experienced such difficulty.
When going through those difficult times we often feel alone,
which we often cause by our alienating ourselves in fear of no one understanding.
I am here to tell you that you are not alone.
In all the millions of people in the world, you are not the only one that has or is experiencing such a difficulty.
The difficulty can simply be a test demonstrating to us if we truly trust God.
There are times we fail the test by allowing fear to creep in.
Fear that God will some how fail us and not deliver us from or get us through the difficulty.
1Corithians 10:13 "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man, but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape that you may be able to bear it."
You are not alone in what it is that you are going through.
If you are a child of God through your faith in Jesus and what He accomplished at the cross,
you have with you at all times your source of strength and help.
Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble."
Let us take time to reflect on who God is to us.
We are never alone no matter how it feels.
He is with us always and when we trust him and his love for us,
we can rest in his peace, our way of escape.

Taking Hold

Let us give thanks to the Lord for all He has done.
All that  we have need of His hand has already provided.
Let us not forget Philippians 4:19 "and my God shall provide all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
It is through the finished work of Jesus Christ that every need we've had, now have, or will ever have has already been provided.
The provision for all our needs is available to us NOW.
It is for us to seek the Lord for instruction on how to obtain his provision.
We are to ask the Lord in faith, for what we need.
Matthew 21:22 "and whatever things you ask in prayer,  believing, you will receive.".
Too often we ask doubtingly that God is able or will provide.
Therefore we pray without having expectation of the answer manifesting.
Let's change this, first with finding scripture that supports our request.
Once we find supporting scripture, lets us not only read the scripture but meditate on it.
Allow for the word to become alive in us, seeing it being so real that we see it happening for us
Jeremiah 1:12 "...for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled".
The Lord does just what He says's he will do.
Add to meditation on God's word, a heart ot thanksgiving with words of praise,
We also ought to be a good steward over all that he has already given to us.
No matter what it is that God has given us, we are to be good care takers of that which He has given.
Matthew 25:29 "for to everyone who has more will be given, and he will have abundance, but from him who does not have even what he has will be taken away."
The Lord delights in blessing His people.
Delight yourself in Him and take hold of all His promises.

New and Improved

I remember in my youth, thinking "when I get myself together
I will be ready to serve God."
Oh how wrong my thinking was.
The truth is, we can't make ourselves any better for God's use.
We are all sinners,
sinners in need of a savior.
When saved, we are sinners saved by grace.
That Savior is Jesus Christ the Lord.
It isn't mind over matter, will power, or even good behavior that saves us,
  ONLY Jesus can save.
Acts 4:12 "...for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we MUST be saved." (NKJV)
Jesus came into the world for that purpose,
to save us from sin destruction and death.
Sin is like a cancer that destroys everything in it's path.
It's presence is a path for destruction.
Jesus, the living word of God is the antidote for sin.
Apart from Jesus there is no getting ourselves together.
It is Jesus that get's all things in order, makes all things whole, and new.
Give Him your sinful broken life,
and He will forgive your sins and give you a whole new life.
2Corinthians 5:17 " Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold, ALL things have become new.
We hear often in advertising the term "new and improved."
Though we may not always be able to take that as truth with man.
We can always take God at His word, as the scriptures state in Titus 1:2 he is "God,who cannot lie..."
He makes us a new creation, new and improved.
We need renewed minds that compliment our new man.
Matthew 9:17 "...but, they put new wine into new wineskins and both are preserved."
It is the process of spending time in God's word
that renews our mind.
We unlearn the world's way and learn to think God's way.
Romans 12:2 " And do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."
Let's live life New and Improved.

Spiritual Laziness

It is my cry that the Lord will help us in our spiritual laziness.
There are times I find myself spiritually lazy.
I don't feel like reading the word of God, I don't feel like praying, I don't feel like attending or participating in events that spiritually benefit others or myself.
It is in these moments of spiritual laziness that we must learn to press beyond our feelings.
Pressing beyond our feelings is a demonstration of self-control.
We should not allow our feelings to dictate what we do.
Our feelings can change from one moment to the next
from one situation to the next, from one person to the next.
When we learn to not allow our feelings to control us,
 we also demonstrate spiritual maturity.
It is stated in Luke 2:52 "And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature..."
This scripture speaks of Jesus growing not only physically but also in maturity.
Jesus had to spiritually mature, becoming more aware of who He truly was, whose He was and what that meant.
The enemy takes great delight and counts on our being spiritually lazy.
Our spiritual laziness helps the enemies plan for us.
The enemy has a plan too and that is to steal, to kill and destroy our lives.
When we are spiritually lazy, we are ignorant to who we truly are, or we easily forget, as it is God's word and Holy Spirit that teaches and remind us who and whose we are and what that means.
Romans 10:17 "so faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God."
Work and social enjoyment are viewed as, and are beneficial to mankind,
and man is often dilligent in working and having some type of social outlet,
while the word of God is often viewed and treated as insignificant.
Cares of this world have become priority to many, even Christians.
The busier we become with the cares of this world the more spiritually lazy we grow.

True Love (Agape)

I am so thankful that God is God.
All that He does is excellent.
He loves each of us and all of us excellently.
I think many use the word love very loosely.
We often think it a big thing to love those who love us,
to treat with kindness those who treats us kindly,
or to forgive those who come seeking our forgiveness.
Than I looked at how God loves.
The Greek term used for God's type of love is (agape.)
This is not speaking of romantic, sexual, friendly or brotherly love but sacrificial love.
We naturally love with expectancy of a return of love, kindness, respect, and or acceptance.
God loves without expectation or return on his investment of love toward us.
We see relationships destroyed because of inability to agape love.
Agape love is true love and is perfectly expressed by the one who is faithful and true.
Our parents, friends, or romantic novels can't teach us agape love without having learned from the one who is (agape) love.
No one out of relationship with God is even able to love in this manner.
Isaiah 55:8,9 " For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither your ways my ways." declares the Lord
9)"As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
Our God thinks and acts grander than we are able to apart from Him.
It is this reason that we think and demonstrate love differently than He.
As I looked at God's definition of love, I realized how much I fail at truly loving.
I Corinthians 13:4 "Love suffers long and is kind, love does not envy, love does not parade itself, is not puffed up, 5) does not behave rudely, does not seek it's own, is not provoked, thinks no evil, does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth, 7) bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8) Love NEVER fails."
This is an perfect picture of who God is.
"Lord we need you to perfect our love walk."

Truly Love Him

We confess our love to the Lord God in song, in prayer,
in our words of praise and adoration.
We confess our love in a crowd or maybe in our alone time with him.
It might be with shedding of tears or possibly a warm smile.
It might be in a moment of great joy or in the midst of heart wrenching pain.
Though none of this really matter.
What is most important is that we mean it with our hearts?
For it is He who is able to look beyond where the natural eye can see.
I Samuel 16:7 "...for the Lord does not see as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."
For it is the inner man of the heart which reflects the type of man he truly is.
We outwardly may appear to be one thing,
while our inner man that cannot be seen with the natural eye
but only the supernatural eye of God,
may reflect something completely different.
God wants us to truly love Him with our whole heart.
As written in Mark12:30 " Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength."
When we love Him with our heart,
that love will also be reflected in our attitude, and actions.
John 14:15" If you love Me keep my commandments."
We are no longer under the law but have law already fulfilled in us through Christ Jesus.
When we allow for Him (the Lord) to live in and through us, we are able to obey His word.
So let us not just love Him in word, but in deed.

Abiding In The Secret Place

When we trust God enough to direct our paths,
knowing that He so loves us and wants the very best for us.
Than we will truly allow Him to lead us in paths of righteousness.
We at times put our trust in man above God.
Finding ourselves at times looking to other people, organizations, anything other than God
to put our trust in.
At times it is our mistrust of God that puts us in some dangerous situations,
situations which could have been avoided had we trust God to direct us.
Proverbs 3:5,6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
6) In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths."
The Lord wants us to allow Him to direct us, that He may keep us safe from unknown dangers ahead.
He has a planned road map for each of our lives.
A road map that will lead us right where he wants us, at the time He wants us there.
The question is, will we trust His plan and let Him lead?
Psalm 91:1 "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."
He is our protection when surrender to His will for our lives instead of our own.

Powerless Prayer.

We will hear many times " We need to pray about this or that, or someone will say " I'm praying for you brother/sister."
We look around, or hear about all the tragedies, danger, and wickedness going on around us, and know we need to pray concerning all these matters.
With all the prayer talked about, volunteered to offer on another's behalf and thought about,
why does it seem that our prayer's are not being answered?
I have pondered this thought in my head for a while and have come up with a few possibilities.
The first being that prayer is often thought of as a lengthy one sided dialogue to God,
often consisting of promises to Him and or request from Him.
Which is pushed aside for a more convenient time.
I Thessalonians 5:17 "pray without ceasing."
Then there is the prayers promised to be offered on behalf of another,
the only problem is that you have so many things going on in your own life and those closest to you, that you simply forget to pray for that someone.
Oh my we cannot forget about not being in the proper place for prayer,
maybe you are in a grocery store, visiting friends, riding the bus, in a courtroom and you feel it not appropriate to offer up prayer in these settings.
There are those who pray out of feelings of spiritual duty,
but lack faith that the Lord hears and answers prayer.
Mark 11:24 " therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray believe that  you receive them and, you will have them."
Let me just take this time to encourage you in your prayer life.
You can pray any time any where.
Your prayers can be short and soft, or lengthy and loud.
You can pray while off to yourself or in a crowd.
You can pray whether you are indoors or out, even while in motion.
There are no rules & regulations for prayer, you need only to pray sincerely from the heart and in faith, knowing that our God hears and answers prayer.
Much prayer much power, little prayer little power, no prayer no power.
Let's be people of prayer.

Watchout For The Snare Set

In my time with the Lord today
I reflect on the busyness of our society.
We are so busy focusing on riches, status, and power, that we leave very little if any time to reflect on the one true Almighty God.
We are often placing at the back burner
(Matthews 6:33) "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you.
The cares of this life often consume not only our time but energy and those cares become idols in the lives of many.
Cares which are considered as greatly significant and are therefore exalted above God.
(Exodus 20:3) "You shall have no other gods before Me."
I see busyness frequently used as a snare set by the god of this world.
(Mark 4:19) " and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desire for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful."
We need to take time and see what we are giving most of our time and energy to.
Is it the cares of this life, or is it God who has promised to supply all  your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus?" (Philippians:19)
Don't allow busyness to ensnare you.

Loving You

Today I reflect back on all the times I have felt out of place.
A lot of this was my fear of not fitting in.
As a child there is no greater discomfort than of being an odd-ball
to say the least and an odd ball I was.
I tried desperately to be like others, but even that felt odd.
It wasn't who I was, so naturally it felt odd.
The funny thing is, that the same people I was looking to for validation that I was okay
had their own identity issues going on.
We were all on the road of discovery.
There were just those having the confidence I lacked,
acting as if they have the answers I was looking for.
I laugh now, as I see life through a different set of eyes.
Eyes that have matured naturally and spiritually.
Psalm 139:14 says "I am fearfully and wonderfully made, marvelous are your works, and that my soul knows very well."
My soul did not know that God made different and wonderful.
We live in a society of clones.
A society that is fearful of being different.
I say embrace your uniqueness, share it with others.
We are like a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
Delight in your uniqueness, God does.
No one can be you like you.
Love you, God so loves you.

Come Out Come Out

It was after Adam and Eve disobeyed God that they hid themselves from Him.
Genesis 3:8 "And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden."
It is sin that makes you hide and feel ashamed, guilty, wanting to place blame,
which causes you to hide behind lies, avoid, or look to place blame.
Jesus came so that you could come out from hiding.
He, through his blood shed for us all,
provided a means of escape from the bondage of sin, shame and guilt which lead to death.
Romans 8:1 "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who did not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."
You are no longer guilty, so come out, come out wherever you are.
Hallelujah! 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new."
You are brand spanking new.
Again I say, come out, come out.

We Ought To Pray

Here is a morsel of truth for today.
Prayer is to our situations & circumstances,  what preventative care is to our physical wellbeing.
1Thessalonians 5:17 "pray without ceasing."

How's Your Heart?

I like this saying which I have heard a few times that goes something like this  "Sitting in a church every Sunday makes you no more a Christian, than you sitting in a garage makes you a car."
This is quite true, yet many are deceived in believing this lie, that because they go to church regularly or not, that makes them a Christian.
Isaiah 59:2 "But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear."
The Lord promises never to leave nor forsake us, those that are his.
The above mentioned scripture says his face is hidden from you and He does not hear you, but how can that be if he is with you and wont' ever leave you?
Since God is not a God who can lie, it can only mean one thing.
He is not with you because you are not his.
When we do things out of tradition, habit, or routine, just going through the motions, there is nothing heartfelt, about the activity.
Our interactions with the Lord should be with thought, and heartfelt.
If going to church, working in a ministry, helping others is out of a sense of meeting a requirement,
I am sorry to inform you that you have been deceived and Isaiah 59:2 is speaking to you.
God does not want your money, your duties, your met quota's, He wants your heart.
When you operate from the heart, it is with thoughts of obeying and pleasing God and desire to truly help another.
If what you do is out of obligation of meeting Christian requirements, I suggest you get a heart check.
God wants the pure heart.

Worth Your Time

God is so awesome.
He is omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, sovereign, and is King of King and Lord of Lords.
It is the awesome God that loves so much, his creation which he  made from the dust of the earth.
A love so great for you, that he created you to be like him.
That fact alone is quite amazing in itself.
Isn't it wonderful to know that this awesome God is always thinking about you, his creation?
It is written is Psalms 8:4 "What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you visit him?
God loves and values you so much, that he gave you his only begotten Son, to come into the world and  die on a cross for you, as payment for your sins,  bad living, bad choices, all which God hates, and yet though he hates sin,  he continues to love the sinner.
This is reason to rejoice.
He thought of and arranged everything so that you could have a relationship with him.
He thought of and arranged everything so that you could experience all of his wonderful promises for you.
There is however something that you need to do.
That is believe, accept, receive and thank him for what he has done.
Unfortunately, there are not many who give much thought to
how they live, there purpose for existence, or what's next after here in the earth.
There are many that take life for granted.
It's time to open your eyes, ears and heart.
Time to think about all that's been made available to you by God.
Time to discover how to obtain all that he has planned and purposed for you.
When you take the time to truly know God,
he will be happy to share with you,  his plan for your life, the perfect life he has created just for you.
It's not promised to be problem free,
but you can live it free from stress and worry as you learn more and more to trust him and his plan.
You will discover he is always faithful, and has always been and will always be.
You will discover, He is worth your time.

Don't Let Anyone Hinder Your Praise

Today as I was in my quiet time with the Lord,
The Holy Spirit had me reflect on my manner of praise when in church service.
I have a tendency to be more reserved and quiet in my manner of praise when at church.
I always feel a bit restrained in the natural, while my spirit man is rising up, leaping within.
I look around and see others quietly sitting, swaying, clapping, evidently not caught up in the experience of an awesomeness God, that I am experiencing.
So I sit and sway, clap and possibly stand with uplifted hands, while my spirit takes flight.
Then I heard Him say " Don't let anyone hinder your praise, for you know all that I've done in your life, you know what manner of wickedness I have delivered you from, and the trials and storms I have carried you through, you have reflected on these remembering and are grateful. Show me again how grateful you are, even in the presence of  multitudes."
Then bringing these scriptures to my memory.
Luke 7:47 " Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much, but to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little."
I am she, who has been forgiven much, and therefore love much.
So I will dance, I will praise, I will sing to the Lord unashamed in the presence of multitudes.
2 Samuel 6:21,22 " So David said to Michal, "It was before the Lord, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel. Therefore I will play music, before the Lord. 22) "And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight..."
I say to you, what the Lord has spoken to me "Don't let anyone hinder your praise.

I Choose...

Praise God we are free, who have accepted the finish work of Jesus Christ.
We have been set free from the bondage of sin.
Romans 6:14 "For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law, but under grace."
It is not that the law is bad, for it makes us aware that we are unrighteous and in need of the savior.
Praise God for Jesus Christ, who was sent to save us from sin and it's consequences.
We are no longer slaves to sin, but slaves to righteousness.
We can now freely choose to obey God and do what is right.
We can freely choose to say yes to God's will and not our own selfish desires that are about pleasing ourselves.
If we do not obey God, it is because we have chosen not to.
We have operating in us, the Holy Spirit that will lead us in the right way,
but first we must choose to be lead.
We have become so accustom to our own way, that it can be difficult to go another,
but we have the free will to choose rather we think our way is best or God's.
Praise God, we are able to choose.
We are able to choose to walk according to the spirit in us,
or continue to walk in agreement with our flesh.
The new spirit will tug us in one direction, while the flesh will try and pull us in another.
Praise God that now we have the power within us to resist the flesh and to be lead by the spirit,
that is, if we choose.

To Glorify God

Today as I spent time in praise & worshipping the Lord God Almighty
I thought on His purpose for my life.
The God of the whole earth created me for His glory.
To make a clear reality for others, just how wonderful,  awesome, good, powerful, merciful, and loving He (God) is.
I had to reflect on my life, the things I say and do, asking myself the questions, does my life as a child of God reflect what an awesome and loving God I serve?
Can people see that I have been given much love and therefore am taught and choose to freely love others? Are others able to see that I am very forgiving because of the innumerable times I myself have been forgiven? or that I am willing to make sacrifices of my own way because of the great sacrifices made for me?
Luke 12:48 "...for everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required, and to whom much has been committed. of him they will ask the more."
I will each day have to ponder these questions, and make a choice as to how they will be answered  based on how I live my life.  My choice today, is to glorify my Father in heaven, that I maybe used for the purpose for which I was created.
I Corinthians 6:20 " For you were brought at a price, therefore glorify, God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's"

An Agent For Change With No Apologies

Good day to all, I just want to say I give no apologies for bombarding you with love and truth, when the world in which we live gives no apologies for bombarding you with hate and lies.
I give no apologies, for offering hope to those who are without, for offering a smile instead of a frown, for sharing with you love instead of the usual served up hate of the world.
Hate for those who look different, talk and walk differently than the world.
I give no apologies for being matter of fact, instead of beating around the bush.
What I give, I give out of love, not to get something from you, but to get something to you.
I do not apologies for not taking away from your life, by my decision to share with you something that will add to your life.
I do not apologies for disconnecting from those whom our connecting does each other no heavenly good.
In our disconnect I will pray that we will one day be able to reconnect.
I do not apologies for not tickling your ears with sweet morsels of deceit.
Just like sugar to the teeth cause decay, so are sweet morsels of deceit to the soul.
I don't apologies for turning on the light in your darkness, nor offering sweetness for your bitterness.
I do not and will not apologies for allowing God to use me mightily as an agent for change.
You yet have the free will to choose darkness instead of light, hate instead of love, wrong instead of right, lies instead of truth,
But I will not apologies for keeping it real, you can take it or leave it, I still choose to love you.

I Want To Praise The Lord

I am so thankful to the Lord for the time we shared together this morning.
As I looked into the book of Psalm's containing songs and words, praising God.
I asked, "Lord what is praise really" and He answered back, "It is words, songs and  expressions of love for me and to me."
I begin to read one of the chapters and meditating  on the words,  found myself drawn into deeper meditation.
As I went in deeper I found myself praising the Lord, drawn into his very presence. There I was, captivated by his presence, saying to Him" how wonderful and beautiful You are my Lord."
"You are like the warm sun light on my face, and it feels so good, your peace is like a calm, gentle moving stream that flows in the midst of strong towering mountains that remind me of your strength and I feel safe and secure. I am with you and as we float down the stream and you caress my face with your gentle touch, looking deeply into my eyes with such love and tenderness, I feel my heart melt like wax,"  and  He said to me, " I love you with an everlasting love, I will never leave you nor forsake you" and I knew His words to me were true. Then He gently touch my lips saying " you,  I have fearfully and wonderfully made, marvelous are My works," and my soul acknowledged that His words were true. We continued to float down the stream and I felt the gentle breeze blowing around me, I said to my Lord, " the gentle breeze reminds me of your gentleness in how you handle me. and I smell the delightful fragrance of you carried on the wings of the wind, and am delighted by the aroma that makes me cling to you the more. I feel the warmth and security of your arms around me as you delight in my praise." As I sang songs to Him of His
goodness, I could see the delight in His face, in His smile, as He  listened to my songs and words of love and adoration. looking  pleasingly into my eyes He said, "Now what is it that you would like my love" As you have delighted me with your praise, and  have opened my heart towards  you, making me ready to lavish you with the desires of your heart, ask of me what you will." I replied back
"I so enjoyed the love we shared, as I gave to you, praise, and you give to me all that I need.
"I excitedly await our time again together my love, My Lord"
This is what happens when we spend time praising the Lord.
Psalm 22:3 " But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel."
It is this experience of praising the Lord, that has my mind made up, that I want to praise the Lord.

What Do They Perceive About You?

In life we cross paths of many people, some of them we take notice of, while others we give very little attention to.
There was a woman of Shunem,  the bible refers to her as the Shunammite woman.
In the book of 2Kings 4:9 this Shunammite woman speaks to her husband saying " Behold now,
I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.  Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick, and it shall be when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither."
This woman had taken notice of the man Elisha, she had seen him passing through her town often.
There must have been something about the man Elisha that made her perceive him as a man of God.
What had she experienced through her senses that gave her this perception of him?
When you are going on in your day, what might people perceive concerning you?
Our perception of someone or something is formed by our senses: seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling, feeling.
If you are a child of God, what might others take notice of concerning you that would give them the perception that you are a child of God?
Can they see the light of life, spoken of in John 8:12 shining forth through you? "...I am the light of the world, he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."
Do they hear the wonderful words of God being spoken out of your mouth  that draws them in to a desire to know more and experience the God of whom you speak?
Romans 10:17 "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God."
Do you serve them the delightful tasting nourishment of God's word, so they may taste and see that the Lord is good,  as writen in Psalm 34:8?
Are they able to experience the wonderful aroma of his presence that you wear, as you put on Christ? the aroma  in 2Corinthians 2:15 "For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ in them that are saved, and in them that perish."
Have you given them  the opportunity to feel the love of Christ, at work in and through you, the love which is commanded, we share with all man kind?  as written in John15:12 "This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you."
There is one other sense which helps us in our perception, and that sense is the sense of discernment.
The Holy Spirit at work in us is a discerner, it is something you just know, because the Holy Spirit has revealed it as truth, as He (the Holy Spirit) leads us in all truth (John 16:13)
1Corinthians 2:12 " Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit whom is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God."
Again I ask, What do they perceive about you?

Set Free To Truly Live

I had lived in a state of depression far too long, finally after becoming sick and tired of  feeling sick in tired, I made a decision. I had known the Lord for years, or so I thought.
Truth of the matter was, I didn't know the Lord at all, I just knew of him and what I had heard others say. Some of what I heard I truly believed while other things, I guess I just thought I believed, and yet some of what I heard I couldn't even imagine how it could at all be true.
Could a God so good, just, and perfect, love someone like me? Romans 7:24" O wretched man that I am! who will deliver me from this body of death."
I had done so much that wasn't  good, I had been unjust, unforgiving, unloving and all the other things which did not please God. How could he love me? How could he forgive me? Why would he even listen to someone like me?  In my thought process I needed to get myself together before I could even approach him seeking forgiveness, let alone his love, but how could I get together, where would I start?  I had been this way for so long. Romans 7:19" For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice.
Then he brought to my remembrance, John 3:16"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." I believed in Jesus and who he was, but I needed to know him, not know of him, but know him for myself. I needed a relationship with him. John 8:12 "...I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." I was not following the Lords example, I wasn't following his instructions. I was doing my own thing, my own way not thinking about the commitment I had made in my earlier years publicly in the church, declaring him as my Lord and savior. All this time I only made him my savior, but in order for me to experience LIFE, the good abundant life he gave me. I needed to allow him to be my Lord, I needed to give up my plans, and my ideas of what I though was living, and allow the light he provided for me to see the way, as he directed my path to real life. When I received that revelation, I was truly free from depression, shame guilt and all those things that had weighed me down, and kept me from living.
John 8:32 "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Praise God! I am now free to truly live,

I Will Not Walk In Fear

There are many things in our lives that can bring about feelings of fear.
The thought of not knowing what is ahead can be frightening.
We can find ourselves fearful of experiencing something new.
Things that are unfamiliar to us leaving us not knowing what to expect can be a frightening thing.
The thing about fear is, that it can paralyze you if you allow it.
You won't make a move outside of your comfort zone for fear.
Fear will leave you limited in your abilities, your opportunities, in your life.
We have to make up our minds that we will not allow fear to hold us back from living.
That's why our knowing a God that would give up His only begotten Son, knowing a God that knew the brutal death this Son would endure for each of us,  our knowing a God that would make a way for us not to be separated from His love, our knowing a God that so deeply love us that he has made a plan and a way for us to experience his perfect love through out our lives, is so vitally important.
When we come to a realization of His wonderful love, when we know we can depend on Him to give us the very best for our lives, as only a perfect Father would do.
We can live a life without fear.
As it is written in I John 4:18 " I am not tormented because ALL fear is cast out in God's perfect love."

Trust Him To Lead

We serve an awesome and mighty God, that knows us personally, for he has created us.
He created us with a purpose and a plan.
God wants to lead us in a life full of purpose, for which he has a perfect plan.
Some think God does not speak to us much, or at all.
I believe God speaks to us, and more than we think, answering prayer more than we believe.
We often feel that if God has not chosen to answer in the way we expect, that he has not answered us.
There are times we question if God has indeed spoken to us regarding a thing.
This feeling of doubt often sending thoughts of fear; of being wrong, looking foolish, or pending disappointment.
We must learn to quiet the voice of doubt.
Doubt can often sound like our own voice.
We quiet the voice of doubt, by learning the voice of God.
When we talk regularly on the phone, or in person with people we learn to recognize their voice.
It is in this same manner that we learn to recognize the voice of God.
The more time spent relating with someone, the better you are able to recognize their voice.
This is what the Lord God wants of us.
He wants us to make our relating to him and cultivating a relationship  with him a priority.
God wants to lead us to a place of rest in him, permitting him take control, trusting him to steer us to a wonderful life which he has planned special for us.
The time spent developing this relationship will bring us to a place of knowing we can trust him to take control, knowing he has only our best interest at heart.
John 10:14" I am the good shepherd, I know my  own sheep, and they know me."
When you know and trust he only wants the best for us, we relinquish control allowing him to take over and direct.
John 10:27" My sheep hear my voice, and I know them and they follow me."
He is ready to direct our path, are we ready to listen and follow?
He wants to lead us to our divine destiny.

It's All About Me Isn't It?

Since birth, more often than not, people have had the, It's all about me mindset.
An infant comes into the world and demands what it wants.
The infant cries, no matter the time of day or night.
He wants a diaper change, or is hungry, wants to be held, or just your attention.
No, it doesn't matter that you are sleep, or busy doing other things, or plain old tired.
That baby wants what it wants NOW!
Okay, he is just a baby and can't do for himself & is dependent on you,
but here we are, not still infants, with this same infant selfish mentality.
It's all about me, isn't it?
You are willing to help others, or act on something if in some way it is a benefit to you.
I am sure you get the picture I am painting however sad but true it maybe.
There are often kind deeds done but with wrong motive.
2Timothy 3:2-5"People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God- having a form of godliness but denying it's power..." This is a description of signs of the last days. I would say were already there, because...
It's all about me Isn't it?
There's a change needed in this mindset.
When you do your good deeds, check your true motives.

No More Fear

There are individuals who seem always to view things from such a negative place.
They desire to do something in life but see all the reasons why that can't do it.
These individuals often focus on what they don't have to offer instead of on what they do have.
I am quite familiar with this type of individual, because I was this individual.
When your focus is on all that could go wrong, you leave little to no room for expecting things to go right.
This kind of situation lends itself to feelings of hopelessness.
This feeling of hopelessness doesn't allow you to visualize all the good that could await you, if you opened yourself to them.
This person closes doors to great opportunities.
This person gives himself to fear.
FEAR = False  Expectations  Appearing  Real
A life of fear is not much of a life at all.
The word of God says' in 2Timothy 1:7" God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love and power and a sound mind."
Next time fear tries to hold you back from living.
You speak to that fear with your authority, and say what God say's about you,Isaiah 12:2"I am not afraid because God is my salvation and I trust Him."
SAY IT LIKE YOU MEAN IT!

Morsels of Truth

In this day and age, life is so very busy.
Life is way too hectic for families to sit and share a meal or two together, each member having their own busy schedule.
We are rushing to soccer, basketball, football, little league games, ballet, music lessons, evening or night classes, 1st or 2nd jobs, just way too busy.
Our lives being way too busy for time in God's word.
God's word is often placed on the top, far back shelf to everything else going on in our hectic lives.
Now comes morsels of truth, with small morsels of God's word available to taste and see just how good He is.
A little morsel for you to savor, that will carry you through the day as you allow it to be digest in your spiritual system.
This little morsel of God's word that satisfies that sweet tooth that longs for the sweetness of God.
We offer just the right size morsels for those finding it difficult to digest a full portion.
These sweet savory treats of inspiration will delight you mind body and spirit as you let it roll over your tongue a time or two before being broken down to a form of nourishment for the soul.
Blessed is this man that meditates on the word of God
Psalms 1;2 "but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law he meditates day and night."
Here we offer morsels of truth, zero calories, and oh so good for you.

His Peace Is Available To You

God has made available to us ALL,  his peace,  but it is for us to accept it.
His peace is available to us through His Son Jesus Christ.
We may try very hard to have peace and might even be successful in obtaining it, but then it eventually eludes us with the next unexpected, disastrous, or undesirable event that occurs in our life.
As with all things that the world has to offer, the worlds peace is temporary.
The things of God are meant for eternity, and of these things is included His peace.
Yes, those unexpected, disastrous, or undesirable events yet may occur, but God's peace is available to His children who accept it.
John 14;27 says " Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
When we trust God, who has proven Himself faithful through the ages, we can trust his word, his promises to us who believe.
He has said that the way to ALL of his promises is through His Son Jesus.
John 14:6 "... I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
To become one of the children to whom God's promises are meant, you must first come through Jesus Christ.
You must accept Him as the Son of God, and all that He has done to reconcile you to the Father, through is death and resurrection.
If you can't accept this, then the everlasting promises of the Father are not available to you.
Therefore your only peace is that temporary state of being, which you might attain.

All Scripture Is Profitable

I know there are some that have been taught, and believe that the old testament is not relevant for us today.
My question then is "how can it not be relevant?"
We serve a God that is immutable, which includes His thinking.
We can depend on God to say what it is He means, and to mean what He say's.
This is why He is also called faithful.
2 Timothy 3;16" ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."
The Old Testament as well as the New, are ALL scripture.
The Old Testament allows us to learn from the past failures, mistakes, and successes of those who have gone before us. The old testament offers more clarity and insight for things mentioned in the new testament, often reflecting on things that were to come.
Praise God for His infinite wisdom and His plan and process
of getting mankind to not only recognize sin,
through the giving of the law to the nation of Israel by Moses,
but also allowing mankind to recognize it's need for a Savior
through the person of Jesus Christ.

I Am vs I Am

A friend calls me, and I stop what I am doing to be a friend and listen.
My child comes to me, and say's "mom I need something for school,"
and as a mom, I get what is needed.
My neighbor expresses a need for something that I am able to do as their neighbor.
The students I work with expect me as the teacher, to teach them the lesson they are to learn.
I am all these things by role only, but God is all these things ALWAYS  because of who He is.
If we need a friend, He says "I Am"
If we need a parent He says "I Am"
If we need a counselor, lawyer, physician, helper, He says "I Am"
Only God is "I Am"
We are in ROLE only these things carrying out the duties of that role, but God IS ALL these things.
He is our ALL in ALL, whatever and whenever we need Him to be.
Exodus 3;14 (NIV) " God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: "I AM has sent me to you."
He is all things good in His character.
We in our multitude of roles act out (like) the characteristics of God the Father,
God the friend, God the counselor, God the physician etc.
As I am in my many roles, want to lead others to The Great and Only I AM.

I Believe

If we were to be very truthful, we would admit that we frequently give more attention to what we see, than our faith and what the word of God says.
I have to honestly say I get caught in that trap at times also.
I speak the right things, often saying them at the right time without much thought,
then comes the test, to show me if I indeed believe what it is I have said.
1Peter 1;7(NIV)"These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith-of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refine by fire..."
There are things that occur in our lives that will test our faith.
We may say what others would expect us to say as believers, but have we truly believed what it is that we have said, or have we just spoken out of habit?
Like with all things, practice makes perfect.
When we make a decision to practice READING, SPEAKING, and MEDITATING on God's word, than we will come to the place where  it becomes soreal to us, believing it, expecting it,  and thanking God for it even before it is manifest in the natural.
Romans10;17 (KJV)"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
When we do this, we will truly begin to experience His abundant goodness.
The abundance of life He has promised us.

Looking To God

You have at times been that person that another counts on in life.
Maybe you are the one who has counted on another when things got tough.
It's always nice to know you have someone who has your back, but at times the one who has your back get's in the way of what God is trying to do in your life.
He maybe trying to tell you to ask for, and use wisdom, or maybe He's trying to get you to STOP running to and depending on other people.
God want's you to depend on Him.
Philippians 4;19 "And my God shall meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus."
It doesn't matter what the need is, God is a God of more than enough.
He has more than enough; love, joy, peace, health, and wealth to go around to everyone.
He want's you to look to him when you can no longer manage things yourself.
Truth be told, we need God in all that we do, at all times.
Psalms 121;1,2 " I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth."
God will at times use others to come to our aid, but our first thought should be to seek God,  knowing that He loves you and will take care of you.

Do You Want To Be Promoted

We are often working very hard to make money to live the life we want.
Many work long hours, second and third jobs, trying to make enough to live comfortably.
We share our great ideas, our talents, learn new skills, work over time, etc.
in hopes of being promoted on the job.
Matthew 25;20,21 "And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying "Master you delivered to me five talents, here I have made five talents more."
His master said to him, " Well done, good and faithful servant. Yu have been a faithful over a little, I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of  your master."
It is when we show our selves to be good and faithful stewards over what we have, that we are promoted to greater.
You will not find an employer promoting someone whom they cannot depend,  nor does well in his current position.
The same holds true regarding our many prayer request for greater, opportunities, financial status, and any and all other areas of achieving greatness.
If you are not a good steward over what you currently have, right where you currently are,
why should you expect a God full of wisdom to promote you with something greater?
If we don't pay our debts, but spend frivolously, and don't care about those less fortunate,
we are showing God that we can't handle what has been entrusted to us already, so are not ready to handle anything more.
Luke 16;10 " One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest
in a very little is also dishonest in much."
If you are looking to be promoted to greatness,
how are you handling what you have, right where you are now?
